Happy Birthday! The Blog Turns 20

I love birthdays. I think I may have told you that before. It's good to celebrate, at least that's how I feel. While today is my Flashback Friday, I want to take a moment to say happy birthday to the blog. It turned 20 yesterday! I remember when I turned 20, I  was looking forward to 21.

Facebook recently celebrated its 10th birthday and for now they are still going strong. In the world of innovation, technology and social, turning 20 is a major milestone. Congratulations are in order for the blog.

A blog is an online journal and while it may be personal for the writer, like most writing, it has the power to connect with a wider audience and influence individuals. Blogs have helped to transform how we share and get information online. In the early days of the blog I think their were some naysayers who looked down at it, it wasn't journalistic enough for some writers and lacked prestige. It was just a few years ago when advertisers realized the power of mommy bloggers and their ability to tap into a niche audience.

Twenty years later the blog is still going strong. I'm a testament to it as are  millions of other writers.

Now, getting back to Friday's Flashback, Pulp Fiction, one of my favorite films is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2014. I can watch this film over and over again.

Looking back 20 years isn't always easy, but sometimes it's necessary and can even bring back fond memories.

Happy birthday to the blog and below is one of many funny scenes from Pulp Fiction (Warning: it does have inappropriate language, so you may want to click on the video and watch at home, not your office). Enjoy!
